Can you spot the problem with this picture?

The image above has a lot of people totally baffled. I’ll even admit it confused me at first, but just like the “duvet cover” optical illusion earlier this week, the thing that makes this sunny picture of three friends strange is probably not what you think.

Here are a few clues: It doesn’t have to do with the women themselves — no extra hands or disappearing limbs. It also doesn’t have to do with the background or the park itself. And it is not a matter of what is there so much as what’s missing. Do you spot it?

Clothing, Leg, Trousers, Denim, Jeans, Sitting, Textile, Outerwear, Jacket, Leisure,

It appears that there’s no actual seat on the park bench, and that the women are suspended above the ground by an invisible bench.

The image, originally circulated on Imgur via a Reddit thread and later picked up by the Daily Mail, has plenty of people perplexed about what exactly is going on. Is it simply Photoshop or something else? The Daily Mail theorizes that the bench may have pullout seats that each woman is sitting on, but I’m placing my bets on a Photoshop trickster. Either way, it makes us think invisible furniture would look pretty freaking cool.
